Every advanced liposuction technique is designed to do the same thing: cause less trauma to the tissue and make recovery easier. I choose among them by the kind of fat you have.
A stable weight, fat you can pinch, and skin that still shrinks. Three things decide it at the examination: whether the fat is under the skin or inside the abdomen, whether the skin will follow, and whether chest fullness is fat or gland.
Every operation carries risk. The ones I see and manage: contour irregularity, which is why I treat an area as one plane rather than in patches; a seroma, fluid under the skin, drained in the office; numbness that fades over months; and small asymmetries that occasionally need a touch-up. Only the part you can pinch. A hard, round belly is mostly visceral fat around the organs, which liposuction can't reach and weight loss can. Many men have both; the examination tells you how much of yours is reachable.

It depends on your fat. Water liposuction (Aquashape) suits softer fat, ultrasonic liposuction (VASER) suits dense fat and High Definition sculpting, and power-assisted liposuction loosens fat with a vibrating cannula. All are designed to lessen tissue trauma and recovery; I choose at the examination.

The cells removed don't. If you gain weight the remaining fat enlarges evenly, so the shape softens but stays, as in Case 2. Large weight gain can put fat in untreated areas, including inside the abdomen.
