Are you looking for a safe, effective way to reshape your behind? Exercises like squats and lunges can help tone your muscles, but it’s not always enough to change the shape of your backside. The Brazilian Butt Lift, or BBL, removes unwanted excess fat from trouble areas like the tummy, thighs, or love handles and transfers that fat into your backside to create a fuller, rounder appearance.
Ditesheim Cosmetic Surgery is an award-winning Charlotte plastic surgery clinic. Contact us today to schedule a consultation for your Charlotte, NC, Brazilian Butt Lift.
A BBL is an outpatient procedure, meaning you’ll go home the same day. Surgery usually takes around two to four hours.
A BBL happens in two phases.
Liposuction: The first step is fat extraction using lipo. You and Dr. Ditesheim will decide which liposuction technique is best for you. For example, some patients may opt for liposuction 360 with BBL, while others may benefit more from another high-definition lipo approach. Our BBL patients often have lipo in the hips, waist, belly, or thighs to harvest fat. The extracted fat is processed and purified for transfer into the buttocks.
Fat transfer: Dr. Ditesheim injects the harvested fat into different areas of the buttocks to create additional fullness and shape. He makes several tiny injections to ensure an even fat distribution and achieve the desired shape and size.
After surgery, you will be given detailed post-op instructions. Most patients will wear a compression garment to minimize swelling. Remember that you will need someone to drive you home and help you for the first few days.
Recovering from a BBL takes around 6 weeks. You should avoid sitting or lying on your backside for the first few weeks to protect the newly transferred fat. Many patients use a doughnut-shaped seat or a pillow when they need to sit up. The final results of your BBL surgery can take several months. You will notice a fuller and more round bottom immediately after your procedure, but remember your body will be swollen.
While Charlotte Brazilian Butt Lift procedures are popular, not everyone is an ideal candidate. The ideal candidate for a BBL is an individual in overall good health with enough excess fat to be liposuctioned and transferred to the buttocks. Other considerations include skin laxity, the candidate’s natural body shape, and current weight.
Patients choose to do a BBL with Dr. Ditesheim for several reasons. If you can relate to any of the following, a Brazilian Butt Lift may be a good option.
